Glencrest Remodel
Project: Kitchen, Dining Room, Mudroom, Powder Bath
Location: Golden Valley, MN
Architectural Style: 1941 home
Clients: busy empty nesters ready for a more functional, beautiful home
Team Effort: Tusk Builders, Kari Campbell Interiors, Paskar Woodworking, The Wallpaper Guy
This couple had lived in their 1941 Golden Valley home since their kids were small. The kitchen was outdated—with a main walkway cutting straight through the cooking zone—and the dining area, back hallway and powder bath all needed attention, too. With the house to themselves for the first time in years, it felt like the right time to make it everything they'd always wanted it to be. They came with a design already in hand from Kari Campbell Interiors and were looking for a build partner to bring it to life with quality craftsmanship.
Highlights from this Golden Valley home remodel:
Full overlay frameless cabinets, glass fronts, unlacquered brass hardware and a touch of stained white oak make the space feel both contemporary and classic.
Solving the layout problem opened up the opportunity for a built-in banquette in the dining area.
We love a good wallpaper moment, and this project has two. The gorgeous wallpaper in the banquette and powder bath transformed those rooms into two of the most memorable in the house.
The new mudroom has heated floors (that the couple’s dog can’t get enough of).
We loved collaborating with Kari Campbell Interiors on this project.
